With the UPSC Prelims Exam scheduled for 16th June 2024, the final 15 days are crucial for consolidating your knowledge, revising key concepts, and enhancing your exam readiness. Here is a structured revision strategy to maximize your performance:

Day 1-3: Consolidation of Core Subjects

  1. Day 1: Polity

    • Revise key chapters from ‘Indian Polity’ by M. Laxmikanth.
    • Focus on important articles, amendments, and landmark Supreme Court judgments.
    • Review your notes and flashcards.
  2. Day 2: History

    • Cover Modern Indian History from ‘India’s Struggle for Independence’ by Bipan Chandra and Spectrum.
    • Revisit important events, freedom movements, and personalities.
    • Go through Ancient and Medieval History from NCERTs.
  3. Day 3: Geography

    • Revise Physical Geography from G.C. Leong.
    • Review Indian Geography, including important locations, rivers, mountains, and climatic patterns.
    • Use maps for better retention.

Day 4-6: Focus on Economy, Environment, and Science & Technology

  1. Day 4: Economy

    • Revise from ‘Indian Economy’ by Ramesh Singh.
    • Focus on key concepts like GDP, inflation, fiscal policy, and budget.
    • Review recent economic surveys and budget highlights.
  2. Day 5: Environment

    • Go through ‘Environment’ by Shankar IAS.
    • Focus on biodiversity, conservation efforts, climate change, and environmental policies.
    • Review international conventions and treaties.
  3. Day 6: Science & Technology

    • Revise basic concepts from NCERTs.
    • Focus on recent advancements and government initiatives in science and technology.
    • Review key topics like space technology, biotechnology, and IT.

Day 7-9: Intensive Revision of Current Affairs and CSAT

  1. Day 7: Current Affairs – Part 1

    • Revise current affairs from the past 6 months.
    • Use monthly magazines and your notes.
    • Focus on national and international news, government schemes, and reports.
  2. Day 8: Current Affairs – Part 2

    • Continue with the remaining current affairs.
    • Ensure you cover all important events, policies, and personalities.
  3. Day 9: CSAT

    • Practice comprehension passages and logical reasoning questions.
    • Solve basic numeracy and data interpretation questions.
    • Take a full-length CSAT mock test to assess your preparation.

Day 10-12: Full-Length Mock Tests and Analysis

  1. Day 10: Mock Test 1

    • Take a full-length General Studies mock test.
    • Simulate exam conditions to get accustomed to the pressure.
    • Analyze your performance, focusing on weak areas.
  2. Day 11: Mock Test 2

    • Take another full-length General Studies mock test.
    • Continue to simulate real exam conditions.
    • Review your answers and improve on the identified weak areas.
  3. Day 12: Mock Test 3

    • Take a final full-length General Studies mock test.
    • Focus on time management and accuracy.
    • Analyze your performance thoroughly.

Day 13-15: Final Revision and Relaxation

  1. Day 13: Quick Revision of Weak Areas

    • Go through your notes and revise the areas you found challenging during mock tests.
    • Focus on quick reference materials and summary notes.
  2. Day 14: Light Revision and Relaxation

    • Lightly revise key facts and figures.
    • Ensure you are not overloading your brain.
    • Engage in light physical activity to relax.
  3. Day 15: Final Preparation and Mental Calm

    • Go through short notes and important points.
    • Ensure you have all necessary documents and items ready for the exam day.
    • Meditate or practice breathing exercises to stay calm and composed.

Additional Tips:

  • Stay Hydrated and Eat Healthy: Proper nutrition and hydration are crucial for maintaining energy levels.
  • Adequate Sleep: Ensure you get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night, especially the night before the exam.
